JACKSON, Miss. (Dec. 4, 2011) –
Trailing from start to finish, the Sewanee men's basketball team dropped its third straight contest, 69-57, at Millsaps Sunday afternoon inside the Hanger Dome.

With the loss, Sewanee evened its record to 3-3 overall. The Tigers are also 0-2 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) play.

After taking a 23 point lead into the intermission, Millsaps held a 54-41 advantage with 7:23 to play in the second half. A pair of junior Lewis Affronti free throws momentarily cut the deficit to 11 before the Majors rallied off a 10-4 run the next four minutes.

Down by 17, the Tigers' Brett Bouldin and Bryan Beviacqua hit their only three-pointers of the game to bring Sewanee to within 11 with 1:18 remaining. After a Millsaps turnover, Tyler Brown's layup put the Tigers down nine, 64-55, with just over a minute to play. However, Millsaps controlled the final 60 seconds after hitting 3-of-4 free throws and a layup.

As a team, Sewanee outrebounded the Majors 41-30. The Tigers shot 36 percent (18-of-49) from the floor.

Affronti and senior Trent Williams led Sewanee with 13 points. Williams' 13 points was a season high. Brown finished the contest with nine points and a game-high 13 rebounds.

In total the Majors finished an astounding 7-of-10 from outside the arc. Another key point for Millsaps was their ability to find points from the bench. Millsaps' reserves finished the game with 37 points.

Sewanee opens a five-game homestand against Johnson University Tuesday. Tipoff is set for 8:00 p.m. inside Juhan Gymnasium.
