SEWANEE, Tenn. – Junior Fletcher Bigham earned National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Second-Team All-District VI honors, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon. The All-District teams are selected by NABC-member coaches from across NCAA Division III.
Bigham previously earned Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Player of the Year honors and was named First Team All-Region by D3hoops.com. The Charlotte, N.C., native averaged 19.4 points and 11.0 rebounds per game, recording 15 double-doubles and 17 games with double-digit rebounds.
Bigham posted 12 games with 20 or more points, including two 30-point performances and a 40-point outing against Berry College. He led the SAA in 12 statistical categories and ranked among the top 20 nationally in six categories.
He finished the season ranked first in the SAA in blocks (68), blocks per game (2.72), double-doubles (15), field goals made (186), total points (484), total rebounds (276), defensive rebounds per game (9.72), rebounds per game (11.0), three-point percentage (.386), three-pointers per game (2.84), and total three-pointers made (71).
Nationally, Bigham ranked ninth in blocks per game and double-doubles, 11th in total blocks, 16th in rebounds per game, 20th in total rebounds, and second in defensive rebounds per game. He also ranked among the top 75 in five additional categories.
Bigham opened the season with 35 points and 20 rebounds against Maryville College and later recorded 35 points and 16 rebounds versus Covenant College. Additional standout performances included 22 points at LaGrange College, 21 points and 21 rebounds at Welch College, and 21 points against both Rhodes College and Millsaps College. He added 22 points against Trinity University and finished with 25 points and 11 rebounds in Sewanee's second meeting with Berry after posting 40 points and 14 rebounds against the Vikings earlier in the season.
