Gardner named CSC Academic All-District

SEWANEE, Tenn. – JD Gardner was named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District for the 2025-26 men's basketball season, as announced by the organization.

Garner earns his first honors after playing in all 26 games for the Tigers this season, with eight starts. The Lexington, S.C. native averaged 18.3 minutes a game this year, scoring 131 points with 74 rebounds, 23 assists, and 10 steals.

To be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically with a minimum 3.5 grade-point average. Nominees must also compete in 90 percent of the institution's contests or must start in at least 66 percent of the contests. Only a select group of student-athletes, chosen by CSC committees, advance from Academic All-District submission status to the Academic All-America ballot.
