SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Sewanee women's basketball team hosted regional rival Emory on Monday night and after leading 41-40 at the half, earned a 97-87 win over the visiting Eagles. It's always good to beat Emory I have great respect for the team and Coach Thomaskutty does a tremendous job there.”
Sewanee surprised the Eagles early, jumping out to a 10-2 lead just four minutes in. Emory caught up 10 minutes later and the lead changed hands several times before Emory got out to a six-point lead early in the second half. Sewanee fought back, though, and earned a 10-point win.
