Sewanee Women's Basketball Falls to Agnes Scott

DECATUR, Ga. - Sewanee played Agnes Scott in DIII women's basketball action Tuesday night and after leading 35-33 at the half, took the eventual 67-60 loss to the host Scotties.

Dani Kabbes (Chesterfield, Mo., Villa Duchesne) led the Sewanee effort with 15 points and 10 rebounds for the double-double. Kabbes is averaging 13 points and nine rebounds for Sewanee so far in 2009. Lauren Gulley (Winchester, Tenn., Franklin County) was also in double digits for Sewanee with 12 points. Genefine Sapateh led the Scotties with 18 points.

Sewanee shot nearly 33% from the field and Agnes Scott was 36% accurate from the field. The Scotties also had a 56-43 edge in total rebounds. Sewanee was 30% good from behind the 3-point line and Agnes Scott made 29% of it's 3-pointers.

Sewanee is now 1-3 (1-1 against fellow Division III teams) and will next play Monday night against Emory on the Mountain. Agnes Scott is now 2-2.
