SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee hosted SCAC opponent Austin College
on the Mountain Sunday for its final game of the season and the
visiting Kangaroos shut the Tigers out 1-0. Sewanee finishes the
season at 10-6-1 and is 5-4 in SCAC play.
Emily Brzuzy scored Austin's goal in the 28th minute and
despite outshooting Austin 15-5, Sewanee couldn't make up the
deficit. The Tigers also took eight corner kicks compared to five
for the'Roos.
Sewanee goalkeeper Virginia Zakas (Atlanta, Ga.,
Westminster) had one save on the day and Kaitlin Ellidge had
six for Austin College. Zakas is also a member of Sewanee's
basketball team, which opens next weekend.
