NCEA falls to No. 1 Lynchburg in ODAC Semifinals

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee's NECA Equestrian team fell to No. 1-ranked Lynchburg, 8-2, in the ODAC semifinals on Friday morning at Sweet Briar.

The teams opened the day on fences, where the Hornets built an early 4-1 advantage. Emma Sameth earned Sewanee's lone point in the event, posting a 78.5 on Winston to defeat her opponent by 23.5 points. Olivia Carmouche narrowly missed a point, scoring a 77 on Hemingway, just shy of Lynchburg's 78.5.

In flat, Carmouche secured the Tigers' second point of the day with a 79.5 on Diego, edging her opponent by 0.5. Rebecca Love recorded an 81.5 on GG in Sewanee's first flat ride, but Lynchburg answered with an 83.5 to take the point. The Hornets claimed the remaining three flat points to seal the 8-2 victory and advance to the ODAC Finals.
