Men's Golf tied for fourth after two rounds at Savannah Invitational

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Aidan Tudor carded a two-under 70 in the opening round and sat at two under with one hole remaining in round two as Sewanee's men's golf team stood tied for fourth after day one of the Savannah Invitational. Play was suspended due to darkness, with the Tigers set to resume Tuesday morning on hole three to complete the second round.

Tudor opened his tournament with three birdies and 13 pars, offset by a double bogey on hole six, to post his 70 and move into seventh place individually. He continued his steady play in round two and will finish the final hole Tuesday.

Turner Chiles and Colin Edwards also positioned themselves well heading into the final hole of the second round, each sitting at one under for the round when play was halted.

Chiles opened the day with a two-over 74, tallying 12 pars, two birdies, and four bogeys. In the second round, he recorded four birdies, three bogeys, and 10 pars to sit at one under with one hole remaining. He currently stands tied for 18th.

Edwards carded a three-over 76 in the first round, highlighted by three birdies, but was hampered by double bogeys on holes three and 13 along with three additional bogeys. The senior rebounded in round two, playing a clean back nine with eight pars and a birdie on hole 13. On the front nine, he added four birdies but offset them with a triple bogey on hole eight and a bogey on hole nine. He sits at one under for the round with one hole to play and is tied for 28th.

Elias Becker finished the day at eight over par. In round one, he opened five over through his first eight holes, including a double bogey on hole six and bogeys on holes nine, 11, and 12, before closing strong with 10 pars and a birdie to shoot a four-over 76. In round two, Becker recorded eight pars and one bogey on the back nine and added four bogeys and a birdie on the front to card a 73.

Will Brookby turned in a one-over 73 in the opening round, making four birdies — three coming on the back nine — along with six pars. He added bogeys on holes three, eight, and nine and a double bogey on hole six. In round two, Brookby tallied four birdies but countered them with seven bogeys, a double bogey, and a triple bogey to sit at eight over with one hole left to complete.

As a team, Sewanee is tied for fourth alongside Guilford with one hole remaining in the second round. Huntingdon Hawks leads the field, followed by Washington and Lee Generals and Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels.
