Men’s lacrosse top SAA Preseason poll

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee's men's lacrosse team was selected as the top pick in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) preseason poll, as announced by the league's office on Wednesday morning.

The Tigers earned five first-place votes for 41 points. Centre and Rhodes tied for second, each receiving one first-place vote and 34 points. Southwestern followed with 28 points, while Berry (23), Hendrix (16), and Oglethorpe (13) rounded out the poll. The poll was conducted among the SAA's seven head coaches.

Sewanee has reached four straight SAA Championships after Covid, winning in 2022, but finishing as runners-up the past three years.

The Tigers return five of their nine All-Conference players for the 2026 season, including first-team honorees, James Bogusky and Manoli Loupassi, along with two second-team selections, Charles Moran and Gus Albright, and one honorable mention honoree, Asa Nischwitz.

Defending SAA Champion, Rhodes, fell in the second round of the NCAA tournament last season and returns two first-team all-conference selections, one second-team honoree, and three honorable mention athletes. Centre returns two first-team selections and two second-team selections.

The 2026 SAA Men's Lacrosse Championships are slated for April 30 - May 2 in Danville, Ky., hosted by Centre College.
