Moran nets four, Tigers drop 12-11 heatbreaker to No. 7 RPI

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Charles Moran tallied four goals and added an assist, but the Tigers fell in a hard-fought 12-11 decision to No. 7-ranked Rensselear Polytechnic Institute on Friday afternoon in men's lacrosse action in Nashville, Tenn. on day two of the Music City Classic.

Sewanee struck first on an early penalty, as Sage Cookerly fed Moran for a man-up goal at the 11:15 mark of the opening quarter. RPI answered on the ensuing possession, but the Tigers regained the lead when Fuller buried a shot from the left side off a feed from Hank Walsh.

Moran opened the second quarter with a goal from Will Kennedy to push the lead to three, before Freeman went to work in the offensive end by himself, forcing a turnover, picking up the ground ball, and finishing a man-up chance to make it 5-1.

The Engineers pulled one back in the closing seconds of the half, as Ryan Sweet connected with Easton Morse with seven seconds on the clock, sending the Tigers into the break leading 5-2.
RPI came out of halftime with a 4-0 run to tie the game at 5-5. Flynn Bowman answered with an unassisted goalie goal from behind midfield, catching the Engineers in transition and knotting the contest at 6-6.
