SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sophomore Turner Chiles carded a one-over par 73 and senior Colin Edwards shot two-over for Sewanee men's golf on Monday in the second round of the NCAA Division III Fall Preview on the El Campeon course at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla., outside Orlando.

The Tigers stand 13th among 24 teams but only nine shots from the Top 5 after 36 holes in the 54-hole event. Sewanee plays the third and final round Tuesday.

All of the Sewanee players began their rounds at No. 10 on Monday.

Chiles collected three birdies in the first five holes before bogeys on 16 and 17 put him at one-under at the turn. The Houston, Texas, native made five pars with three bogeys on the front nine and ended the round with a birdie at No. 9 for one-over 73, tied for seventh and only one stroke from the Top 5.

Edwards posted birdies on holes 14 and 15 but recorded two double bogeys on the back nine as well. The Brookhaven, Ga., native shot even par on the front with seven pars, one bogey and a birdie at No. 5 for two-over 74, tied for 53rd.

Senior Elias Becker bogeyed No. 11 but followed that with birdies on holes 12 and 14. The Mexico City, Mexico, native added six pars on the back before a double bogey at No. 1 and two more bogeys with six pars on the front for three-over 75, tied for 62nd.
