SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee senior
Elias Becker earned SAA Men's Golfer of the Week accolades Wednesday after tying for first and helping Sewanee to a team title at the Gate City Invitational.
The Mexico City, Mexico, native posted nine birdies and one eagle with four bogeys over the three rounds, including a bogey-free five-under 67 in the second round Monday (36-hole day). He shot six-under par over the 54 holes, tying for first with three other individuals. It marked the second tournament in which he placed first in his two-plus seasons at Sewanee after winning low medalist honors at the 2025 SAA Championships.
The Tigers play again Sunday-Tuesday at the NCAA Division III Fall Preview at Mission Resort and Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla., outside Orlando.
