SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee volleyball was picked sixth in the Southern Athletic Association Preseason Coaches' Poll released Thursday by the league office.

Nancy Mueller return all 14 letterwinners from last year's club, including juniors
Savannah Gann and
Sophia Caruso, who both earned Second Team All-SAA accolades in 2024.
Gann posted 232 kills (2.94 per set) and 191 digs (2.42 digs per set), both team-highs, with eight double-doubles, including six in conference play. She registered three outings with 20 or more kills and 12 matches with double figure digs. Gann added 25 total blocks as well.
Caruso paced the Tigers with 396 digs, 4.77 per set, with 17 double-digit outings and nine matches with 20 or more. Senior
Emma Meyer led the club with 544 assists, 6.55 per set, with nine matches of 25 or more, while junior
Anna Ellison collected 19 solo blocks and 63 total blocks to lead the squad last season.
Trinity University earned six first-place votes and 55 total points for first place in the poll. Berry College placed second with 47 points and Centre College picked up the other two first-place votes and 43 points. Southwestern University was right behind in fourth with 42 points, followed by Rhodes College (30), Sewanee (24), Millsaps College (21) and Oglethorpe University (18).
The Tigers host five teams for the Sewanee Invitational beginning Friday at Juhan Gymnasium. Sewanee faces Brevard College at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and takes on Meredith College (1 p.m.) and Huntingdon College (7 p.m.) on Saturday.
