Hill resigns as Head Equestrian Coach

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee equestrian coach and former student-athlete Aelin Hill is leaving the University on July 1, as announced this week by Director of Athletics John Shackelford.

Hill served as the head coach for Equestrian for the 2024-25 academic year after working for three years as an assistant coach with the program. The Tigers won IHSA team region championships in 2022, 2024, and 2025 and tied for the region title in 2024 during her tenure on the coaching staff.

She also guided Emma Sameth to NCEA All-American honors and Sameth and Jenna McAmis to NCEA Rookie of the Year accolades in 2024. In 2025, she coached Sameth to a fifth-place finish in the Cacchione Cup.

Hill graduated from Sewanee with a Bachelor of Arts in English in 2019.

A national search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
