Sameth earns High Point Honors, IHSA takes day two of IHSA Show

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Emma Sameth was the High Point Rider, and Isabella Fioretti earned Reserve High Point Rider as the Tigers won the second day of the IHSA home show.

The Tigers swept the open fences division as Sameth won, Fioretti took second, Rebecca Love was third, and Isabella Janovsky was fourth. Sameth also won the open flat division, as Janovsky took home fourth and Kelly Baumgart was sixth.

Elise Gierhart won the limit fences division, and Lily Carter took home fourth in intermediate fences.

Fioretti earned a first-place finish in intermediate flat, and Gierhart took home fifth.

In limit flat, London Eller was third, and Maeve Raible took home sixth.

Ariel Hornek took home third in the novice flat, and in pre-novice flat, Abdul Maflahi was second.

In introductory flat, Isabela Cancado took home third.

The Tigers earned 35 points for first place, followed by Middle Tennessee State University with 29, Murray State with 22, Maryville with 22, Carson Newman with 12, and UT Knoxville with eight.

The Tigers currently lead the region with 158 points, followed by Maryville with 96.

Sewanee's IHSA team concludes the fall season and will head to MTSU in Feburary for the for the first show of the spring.
