Six Tigers Named to All-SAA Softball Teams; Wilson Earns First Team Honors

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Junior Hannah Wilson earned First Team All-Southern Athletic Association (SAA) honors to lead six Sewanee student-athletes recognized on the league's All-Conference softball teams, as announced by the conference office Wednesday afternoon.

Wilson headlines the group with her third consecutive All-SAA honor, after being named to the Second Team in 2024 and receiving honorable mention as a freshman. The Medina, Tenn. native was selected as a First Team utility player, having split time between catcher and shortstop for the Tigers. She posted a .354 batting average with eight doubles, a home run, 19 RBIs, and 11 runs scored in 25 starts.

Sophomore Abbie Buckner earned Second Team All-SAA honors following a standout season at shortstop. The Corryton, Tenn. native started all 35 games for Sewanee, hitting .351 with three doubles, a home run, 11 RBIs, and a team-high 30 runs scored. She also drew 19 walks for a .450 on-base percentage.

Junior third baseman Maggie Barker and sophomores Ansley Giffin, Reagan Huskey, and Sydney Tackett each received Honorable Mention recognition. Tackett was also named to the SAA All-Sportsmanship Team.

Barker batted .274 with nine doubles, 16 RBIs, and 12 runs scored. Giffin posted a .309 average, adding six doubles, three triples, 10 RBIs, and 14 runs. Huskey anchored the pitching staff, logging 129.1 innings with a 4.17 ERA and 79 strikeouts.

Tackett started all 35 games in left field and finished the year batting .315 with 12 doubles, a triple, a home run, 20 RBIs, and 23 runs scored.

Sewanee begins postseason play in the SAA Tournament on Thursday morning, facing Hendrix at 11 a.m. CT in Columbus, Ga.
