Sameth named Fences MOP, but Tigers fall to Lynchburg on the road

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Emma Sameth delivered an outstanding performance in fences with a score of 86, but Sewanee fell 8-2 to No. 2 ranked Lynchburg in NECA equestrian action on Saturday morning in Rustburg, Va.

The Tigers started strong in fences, earning two points. Irene Boehm scored a 77 on Motaz, while Sameth's impressive 86 on Colin secured another point. Olivia Carmouche posted an 80 on Cascade, narrowly missing a point as her opponent scored 83. Lynchburg held a slim 3-2 lead heading into the flat phase.

The Hornets took control on the flat, sweeping all five points to seal the victory. Carmouche led Sewanee with a score of 77 on Caleb, followed by Clara Juckett's 75, Boehm's 71, Sameth's 68, and Campbell Flanagan's 64.

Sewanee will return to Virginia at the end of March for the ODAC Conference Championships, a three-day event beginning Friday, March 28.
