Kylene Monaghan and sophomore
Sonia Djurasovic earned All-Region VI honors from the United Soccer Coaches Association, as announced Tuesday by the national office.
Monaghan earned First Team All-Region honors and led the Tigers with four goals and six five assists while starting all 17 matches in the midfield. The Blacksburg, Va., native netted two goals with an assist at Covenant College and added a goal and an assist at Southwestern University. She garnered First Team All-Southern Athletic Association honors for the third time in her career and received All-Conference recognition all four seasons at Sewanee.
Djurasovic was a Second Team All-Region selection and a big part of the Tigers backline that allowed only eight goals this season, 0.47 goals-per-match, with nine shutouts. The Tigers did not allow a goal for five consecutive matches early in the season and only three goals in the first nine outings. Djurasovic added two goals and also earned First Team All-SAA accolades.
Sewanee finished the season 10-3-4 overall and lost in the semifinals of the conference tournament, ending a three-year streak of regular season and league tournament championships.
