NCEA falls to No. 1 Lynchburg, 7-3

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Emma Sameth, Rebecca Love, and Addison Durrett tallied points for Sewanee, but Lynchburg defeated the Tigers in NCEA Equestrian action in Rustburg, Va., on Saturday morning. 

Love was the second rider for the Tigers in flat, recording a 76 on Eragon, edging out her opponent by three points for a Sewanee point. Durrett, Sewanee's third rider and the fifth overall in flat, posted an 88 on Ollie, besting her opponent by 10 points for Sewanee's second point in flat. The Hornets collected the remaining three points in flat, taking a 3-2 advantage going into fences. 

In fences, Sameth posted an 85 on Itina, defeating her opponent by 13 points. The Hornets collected the final four points in fences for a 7-3 win. 

Sewanee returns home to host Bridgewater and Berry on Nov. 21 and 23.
