NCEA falls to No. 5, Sweet Briar

SEWANEE, Tenn. –  Emma Sameth and Rebecca Love secured Sewanee's two points as the NCEA equestrian team fell to No. 5 Sweet Briar, 8-2, on Friday afternoon at the Harriet Howell Rogers Riding Center.

Sameth delivered Sewanee's lone point in flat, posting an 85 aboard Jackson as the seventh rider of the day. Piper Nelson narrowly missed adding another, scoring a 76 on Bella to finish just four points shy of her opponent.

In fences, Love earned the Tigers' second point with an 84 on Pip as the sixth rider in the lineup. Addison Durrett wrapped up the meet with a strong ride on Kobe, coming up just one point short in an 82-81 decision.

Sewanee heads to Lynchburg, Va., on Saturday to face the nation's top-ranked team, with first ride scheduled for 10 a.m. CT / 11 a.m. ET.
