Mixon voted SAA Offensive Player of the Week

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Freshman Barton Mixon garnered SAA Football Offensive Player of the Week accolades, rushing for 201 yards and throwing two touchdown passes in Sewanee's victory at Rhodes College, as announced Monday by the league office.
 
The Savannah, Ga., native played quarterback most of the game Saturday after spending the first six weeks of the season at running back. He tossed touchdown passes of 42 and 17 yards and rushed 29 times for 201 yards. He leads the SAA in rushing yards per game (92.0) and ranks second in rushing yards with 552.
 
Sewanee defeated Rhodes in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2001-02, posting a 28-6 win over the Lynx. Mixon accounted for 267 of the team's 317 yards in total offense in the win.
 
The Tigers take on Trinity University this Saturday for Homecoming at Noon at Historic McGee Field-Harris Stadium.
