ATLANTA - Announced on Monday by the Southern Athletic Association, five baseball players were recognized on the All-SAA Team from the University of the South.
Hunter Herndon was listed to the First Team, while
Matt Munn,
Blake Pou,
Charlie Teel and
Will Yarbro all earned Honorable Mentions.
Herndon, a freshman from Chickamauga, Ga., had a stellar first year of collegiate baseball. Leading the team with a .335 batting average, he slugged .477 thanks to 14 extra-base hits and drove in 29 runs. Adding a .905 on-base plus slugging with 11 stole bases, he scored 45 times.
Munn, a sophomore from Bellaire, Texas, collects his second All-SAA accolade in as many seasons with the Tigers. Toeing an ERA of 4.70 and a 7-3 record, Munn punched out 62 batters in 59.1 innings.
Pou, a sophomore from Houston, Texas, led the team in on-base plus slugging with a .960 clip thanks to 16 doubles, good for third-best in the league, six home runs and 24 RBI. Drawing 27 walks for a .418 on-base percentage, he also stole 10 baes and scored 40 runs.
Teel, a freshman from Homewood, Ala., carded a .354 batting average in 31 games for the Tigers with 35 hits and 41 total bases. Adding 19 RBI, he also scored 13 times
Yarbro, a junior from Mountain Brook, Ala., picks up his first All-SAA nod in his first season with the program in 2023. He recorded a batting average of . 304 and a slugging percentage of .481 with 65 total bases thanks to 12 doubles, three triples and two home runs.
