SEWANEE, Tenn. - For the first time in 26 seasons, the University of the South has the privilege to host a postseason game. In 2023, it is the quarterfinals of the Southern Athletic Association Tournament, facing Oglethorpe University.

RUSS KNOCKING DOWN SHOTS: Scoring 534 points for 10th-best in the nation,
Russ Marr is 12th in the nation in 3-point field goals made (76). His 39.2 percentage from beyond the arc is good for 53rd in the country.
In terms of points per game, Marr is averaging 21.4 in 25 games this season, good for 22nd in all of Division III.
DEMOCRATIC SCORING: Sewanee has four players that are averaging double figures in the points column:
Russ Marr (21.4),
Colin Kahl (15.7),
Tre Corrigan (11.5) and
Luka Avaliani (10.3).
Along with Marr, Kahl can drive in the paint and make the shots from downtown. Corrigan's 58 of his 92 field goals made have from long-distance.
Avaliani has stepped up in league play this season. Totaling 10.5 points per game, the sophomore is shooting 43.9% from the field.
HOME, SWEET HOME: Juhan Gymnasium will be center stage for a postseason game for the first time in nearly 26 years. The Tigers last hosted a playoff game as a part of the first and second rounds of the NCAA Championships in 1997.
Sewanee earned a tourney win by defeating Rust (Miss.), 68-61 in the first round before falling to Bridgewater, 65-62, in the next round.
