DANVILLE, Ky. - The University of the South men's lacrosse team heads to Centre College for the semifinals of the 2022 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Tournament on Friday. The 3-seeded Tigers will take on 2-seed Panthers of Birmingham-Southern College.

BSC IN THE SEMIS: Sewanee and Birmingham-Southern face each other in the SAA Tournament semifinals for the first time since the 2016 campaign. The two faced each other in the round for the first four seasons (2013-14-15-16) of the tournament.
Playing in the seventh meeting on Friday, the Tigers have faced the Panthers at home in each of the last five meetings. This will be just the second time in history that the teams will play on a neutral site. When the teams played in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC), the two played each other in Colorado Springs, Colo. in the inaugural tournament. BSC took the contest, 9-7.
FIRST ROUND REVIEW: Sewanee took down Hendrix in the opening round of the tournament on April 23 from historic Hardee-McGee Field at Harris Stadium, 18-9.
Ten separate Tigers contributed with a goal on Saturday night, as
Luke Valentine led the way with five points on four goals and an assist.
Phelps Thomas also dropped five points with three assists and two goals,
Davis Gillenwater laced a hat trick, while
Ryan Hofstetter added three assists and a goal.
Devon Root and
Joe Orem each scooped up four ground balls, while Orem added two forced turnovers.
Charlie Warren won 18-of-27 face offs he saw on Saturday night, while
Greg Ix (3-4) made 10 saves and recorded a save percentage of 62.5% in 55 minutes.
