Loupassi, Clary, Dibernardo headline Sewanee's 12 All-SAA Selections

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Manoli Loupassi was named Offensive Player of the Year, Tyler Clary earned Co-Rookie of the Year honors, and Sewanee's coaching staff was recognized as Coaching Staff of the Year, as the Tigers placed 12 on the Southern Athletic Association All-Conference teams, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.

Loupassi and Clary were joined on the First Team by Gus Albright, James Bogusky, and Flynn Bowman. Will Kennedy, Harrison Fuller, and Sage Cookerly earned Second Team All-SAA recognition, while Charles Moran, Henry Westfall, and Hudson Jones were named Honorable Mention. Tanner Furyk represented the Tigers on the SAA All-Sportsmanship Team.

Loupassi leads Sewanee with 35 goals and 13 assists, adding 27 ground balls and three caused turnovers. The junior has scored in 12 of 14 games this season, including each of the last 11 contests, and has recorded five games with four or more goals. He is averaging 3.43 points per game, with six man-up goals and one game-winner.

Tyler Clary has made an immediate impact on defense in his freshman campaign, recording 22 caused turnovers and 47 ground balls. He has also played a key role in Sewanee's clearing unit, which is converting at an 86.2 percent rate, ranking 49th nationally. Starting every game, Clary has helped limit opponents to 126 total goals this season.

Head coach Nick DiBernardo, in his sixth season, was honored as Coaching Staff of the Year alongside assistants Mason Hoehn and Joe Orem.

Albright, a junior long stick midfielder, earned First Team honors for the first time and his second career All-Conference selection after totaling 47 ground balls, 19 caused turnovers, and four goals.

Bogusky anchored Sewanee's defense with 14 caused turnovers and 13 ground balls, helping hold opponents to just 126 goals overall and only 32 goals in conference play.

Bowman, a senior goalkeeper, led the conference with an 8.45 goals-against average and a .576 save percentage. He recorded 144 saves while allowing just 106 goals in 752:44 of action.

Kennedy earned his first All-Conference honor as an attacker after totaling 30 goals and 18 assists in 15 games. He also contributed 34 ground balls and nine caused turnovers. In conference play, he ranked second in assists (11) and fourth in points per game (23).

Fuller posted 16 goals and four assists during his freshman campaign as a midfielder, including the game-winning goal against Rhodes as part of a four-point performance. He also added nine ground balls.

Cookerly collected his first All-Conference recognition from the midfield, finishing the season with 14 points and four assists, along with nine ground balls.

Moran earned his third consecutive All-Conference selection, totaling 21 goals and 11 assists in just 12 games. The senior recorded a game-winning goal against Southern Virginia and added both a man-up and man-down goal, along with 16 ground balls and five caused turnovers.

Westfall secured his first All-Conference honor after posting seven goals and five assists from the midfield, recording at least one point in every conference game. He also tallied 12 ground balls and four caused turnovers.

Jones rounded out Sewanee's honorees, as the sophomore short-stick defensive midfielder totaled 32 ground balls and seven caused turnovers, while adding a goal and an assist in conference play.

Sewanee enters the SAA Tournament as the No. 1 seed and will face Southwestern in the semifinals on Thursday in Danville, Ky., at 4 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. CT.
