ATLANTA - The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) released the 2022 All-SAA awards for Women's Golf. Four athletes from the University of the South have been recognized on the All-SAA Teams.
Nicole Nesbitt claimed First Team honors, while
Lucy Lamb,
Sabrina Nesbitt and
Merrick Semans all secured Second Team laurels.
N. Nesbitt, a junior from Newport Beach, Calif., recorded a fifth place result at the 2022 SAA Championships this past weekend with a score of 238 (81-78-79). During the 2022 season, she averaged 77.71 strokes in 17 rounds to lead the team.
Earning two top-five finishes this season, she is ranked 58th in the individual rankings, according to GolfStat.
Lamb, a senior from Locust Valley, N.Y., fired a sixth place score of 239 (76-86-74). She would move nine spots to sixth place in Sunday's final round. In 15 rounds, she is averaging 79.47 strokes per round.
Semans, a sophomore from Winston-Salem, N.C., also posted a sixth place score of 239 (76-83-80). Leading the team with 19 rounds played, she has carded a stroke average of 79.68.
S. Nesbitt, a freshman from Newport Beach, Calif., earned a top-10 finish as an individualist at the championships with a 54-hole score of 240 (87-76-77). Playing in 15 rounds during the 2021-22 campaign, she tallied a stroke average of 80.67.
Sewanee finished second in the 2022 SAA Championships last weekend from Chateau Elan's Legends Course.
