CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) and GolfStat have released their latest rankings for Division III Women's Golf. The University of the South women's golf program is now ranked 23rd in the latest polls.
Sewanee is coming off a 10th place at Jekyll Island last weekend, firing a three-round score of 916. Additionally, the Tigers have secured its lowest rounds of the campaign of this year at the event. Their 301 that the team achieved in the opening round is the lowest in 2021-22.
After receiving votes for most of the season, the program finally secured a top-25 spot for the first time in 2021-22, coming in with 57 points in the coaches poll.
In the latest GolfStat rankings, the Purple Tigers are also ranked 23rd with an adjusted scoring average of 79 and a relative percentage of 84.6%.
Individually,
Nicole Nesbitt leads the Tigers with a No. 60 ranking in Division III. In 12 rounds so far this season, the junior is leading the team in stroke average with a 77.50. The Newport Beach, Calif. native recorded a 31st place finish at Jekyll with a 228 score, but her 72 score is the lowest of any player this spring.
Sewanee will wrap up the regular season on April 11-12 with the BSC Panthers Invitational from the Bent Brook Golf Club in Bessemer, Ala.
