Thomson Named SAA Defensive Player of the Week

Sewanee, Tenn: On Monday, October 17th, the SAA announced te weekly Players of the week. Sewanee Women's Soccer defender Kate Thomson earned Defensive Player of the Week honors for her role on the defensive end, not allowing a goal conceded in two games this past week, a 2-0 win over Birmingham Southern, and a 1-0 win over Millsaps. Thomson played all 90 minutes in both games, and scored the game winner in the win over Millsaps, getting it done on both ends of the field. 

Thomson has been a standout all season for the Tigers. The sophomore from New Orleans has played and started in 14 games this season, playing all 90 minutes in 11 of them. Of late, the Tigers have been on fire, winning six straight with five of those wins coming with shutouts on the defensive end.
