SEWANEE, Tenn. - The University of the South football team will return to the road for a non-conference tilt with Hendrix College on Saturday from Conway, Ark.

A LOOK AT THE WARRIORS: Hendrix enters this week's matchup with an 0-2 record, falling to Wisconsin-River Falls, 49-33, and Howard Payne, 55-21.In two games, the Warriors have allowed over 630 yards of offense, which is the worst mark in all of NCAA Division III in the category.
Last week against HPU, Hendrix allowed 478 yards through the air and six touchdowns.
Hunter Holden is listed as the starting quarterback for the Warriors on the depth chart. The freshman went 6-of-12 for 54 yards against Howard Payne.
Chris Childress is the leading receiver with 189 yards on 11 catches and four scores. In the team's opening match-up against UW-Riverfalls, the senior caught 150 yards and scored twice on nine catches.
Mitchell Johnson leads the Warrior defense with 24 tackles, 1.5 tackles for a loss.
In 2020, the Warriors were a part of SAA West Division Championship with an unbeaten spring schedule. In the title game vs. Berry in nearby Little Rock, the Vikings edged the Warriors, 21-20, for their fifth straight SAA championship.
Buck Buchanan, head coach of the program, is in his ninth year and holds a 44-33 record.
LAST TIME OUT VERSUS HENDRIX: Sewanee and Hendrix concluded the 2019 season in Conway, Ark. The Warriors, led by Miles Thompson and Kip Vanhoose, routed the Tigers, 47-17, on Nov. 16.
Thompson had 152 passing yards, while Vanhoose had 188 yards on the ground and three scores.
Cooper Hancock, had 76 yards on 13-of-24 passing and a touchdown. Alex Darras C'20 had 151 yards on 13-of-29 passing.
COMING IN BUNCHES:Â Sewanee's 29-point performance was the most in a game since the Tigers had 25 in a game versus Millsaps on Homecoming 2019, Nov. 2.
Additionally, the Tigers' 20-point fourth quarter was the most since the 27-point explosion in Sewanee's 49-30 setback to Birmingham-Southern on Sept. 21, 2019.
HANCOCK HAS HOT HAND LATE: After playing the first two possessions of the game against Westminster,
Cooper Hancock was 2-of-6 with 19 yards before
Jeremiah Young took over on Sewanee's third drive of the game.
10 drives later, also known as with 1:54 left in the third quarter, Hancock returned to the game and came out strong. Going the rest of the way for the Purple and White, the Darien, Conn. native went 8-of-17 for 124 yards and two big fourth quarter touchdowns.
In addition, the junior is three completions shy of 100 for his career and eight yards away from 1,000.
MORRICE RUNS THIS TOWN:Â George Morrice had two big rushing plays in Sewanee's contest with Westminster. Along with his 51-yard rush late in the first quarter, his 30-yard run in the fourth quarter helped his team scored in three straight drives in the third and fourth quarters.
With his 102-yard performance on Saturday, the junior now has 514 yards on the ground on 92 carries.
