SAA Release | 2021 SAA Women's Golf Awards
ATLANTA - The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) released the 2021 SAA Women's Golf Awards. Nicole Nesbitt from the University of the South has been selected to the Second Team after her performance at the 2021 SAA Women's Golf Championships last weekend at Chateau Elan.
The sophomore improved each day at the conference meet. In the three-round tournament, Nesbitt fired a 244 (87-82-75).
The Newport Beach, Calif. Native posted five birdies, good for fifth overall in the field, and she parred 26 of the 54 holes at the Championships. Additionally, she posted a 4.44 average on par 4s and a 5.27 on par 5s, good for seventh and third, respectively.
In Sunday's final round, Nesbitt soared seven sports to finish in the top-10 thanks to firing a round-low 75, good for two-over on the par 73. Her score in the final round is tied for the 15th-best in a final round of an SAA Championship, and it is the third-lowest by any golfer at the University of the South.
The program, currently ranked 28th in the latest GolfStat Rankings, finished in fifth at the 2021 SAA Championships.
