HOW IT HAPPENED
-Covenant struck the scoreboard first with a two-run base hit in the top of the second, but the Purple and White responded with a four-run frame in the bottom half.
-Jadon Fetrow got the Tigers on the board after reaching base thanks to a Covenant error. Wesley House, who led off the inning with an infield hit, scored on the play.
-The next batter, Wade Sansone, hit a fly ball over the left field fence for a three-run home run to lead, 4-2.
-However, the lead would not last long, as the visitors evened the score in the top of the third.
-In the bottom of the fifth, House delivered an RBI double to score Jack Roode to give the Tigers the 5-4 advantage going into the later innings.
-Unfortunately, the lead would not stand, as the Scots would tie the game in the sixth and broke the game open with a two-run single in the seventh to lead, 7-5.
-Sewanee had a key opportunity to even the score in the eighth. After walking the bases loaded, the hosts were unable to score.
