Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Sewanee men's lacrosse team saw its six-game winning streak come to an end on Friday evening at Historic Hardee-McGee Field at Harris Stadium, as the Tigers were defeated by the Pioneers of Transylvania, 9-7.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-In the program's final non-conference test of 2019, the Tigers, after allowing an early goal with 12:08 left in the opening quarter, scored three straight times in the final 5:47 of the period to lead 3-1.
-Sewanee pushed it to a 4-1 lead, but the Pioneers made it a one-goal contest at the half, trailing 5-4. Thomas Oliver kept Sewanee in control of the lead with a goal at the 5:20 mark.
-The Pioneers came out strong in the final 30 minutes, outscoring the Tigers 5-2 in the second half, and they allowed the home team to one goal in the fourth quarter.
-The visitors claimed the lead for good with a man-down goal despite a pushing penalty by Transy.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Hayden Hunt led the Tigers with two goals on the night.
-Mitchell Ryan and Will Pratt each contributed a goal and assist each.
-Tal Wharton (1-1) saved 20 shots in full time.
TRANSYLVANIA KEY STATISTICS
-Kayd Aquino scored five points with four goals and an assist, while Alex Cherry and Trenton Sneed each added two assists.
-Michael Webb (7-2) saved 18 shots between the pipes, while Peyton Bray won 14-of-20 face off attempts.
