Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Sewanee field hockey team tied the contest with less than a minute remaining in regulation, but a 67th minute goal by the visiting Transylvania Pioneers sealed the victory, 4-3, Saturday afternoon from Puett Field in a Southern Athletic Association (SAA) contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Tigers had the offense going early in the contest. In the sixth minute, off a penalty corner, Caroline Ambrosi found Caroline Sugar for her third goal of the season.
-Next, in the eighth minute, the Tigers made it a 2-0 advantage on another penalty corner. Hannah Bradley passed to Ceara Caffrey in the circle for her 10th goal of the season.
-Transylvania responded in the second quarter with two goals in a span of over a minute. In the 18th minute, Lilly Kramer found a pass from Tori Coleman to avoid the shutout, 2-1. 1:11 later, Harper Zeitz was open in the circle to even the contest at two goals apiece.
-After 11 combined shots in the first 30 minutes, with Sewanee holding a 7-4 advantage, the third quarter was a defensive battle. Sewanee did not allow a shot in the period, and the only shot that they were able to muster came in the 39th minute by Molly Wheeler. The shot was on-target and deflected off the Pioneers goalie.
-Transylvania, in the 58th minute, was able to get a penalty corner in the circle. The Pioneers took advantage, as Makenna Saward passed to Lilly Kramer to give the visitors the 3-2 advantage with 2:07 left in the contest.
-The Tigers responded with 55 seconds left in regulation. After Alex Hornsby controlled possession, she passed to Buckley Norman for her third goal of the year, and that goal forced overtime.
-In the first extra period, Norman took the first shot attempt in the 66th minute, but it was saved by the Pioneers keeper.
-Once again, the visitors were able to get a penalty corner in the 67th minute. Zeitz found the back of the cage for the second goal, which was the game-winner, 4-3.

-Buckley Norman and Molly Wheeler each had three total shots to lead Sewanee, as the Tigers had eight of their 12 shots on goal.
-Barbara Canty (2-8) saved four shots in 66:05.
TRANSYLVANIA KEY STATISTICS
-Harper Zeitz and Lilly Kramer each finished with two goals on two shots.
-Sidney Varney (3-6) saved four shots in the cage.
