No. 18 Men's Golf Eighth at Rhodes Fall Collegiate, Smith Finishes in Top 10

TUNICA, Miss. - The 18th-ranked Sewanee men's golf team earned an eighth-place finish at the Rhodes College Fall Collegiate Golf Classic in the three-round tournament at Tunica National.

TOP PERFORMANCES
-Competing as an individualist, Woodson Smith finished in a tie for 10th out of 104 golfers with a four-under, 212 (72-69-71). After firing an even par in the opening round, the freshman finished the first day of competition with five birdies to finish with a three-under, 69 second round. In Monday's final round, Smith fired four birdies on the front nine, and chipped in an eagle on the par five, 14.

-Basil Boyd finished 17th with a 215 (74-70-71), good for one-under par. Nick Powell chipped in a 218 (74-73-71) to finish 30th.

-Other finishes include Nic Vandeventer (222 | 73-75-74), Tommy Oliver (224 | 78-72-74) and Gray Matthews (228 | 76-75-77).

-No. 3 Huntingdon captured the win at Tunica National with a 22-under, 842.

-Texas Tyler's Tyler Uhlig won medalist honors by two strokes with a 13-under, 203.

UP NEXT
The Tigers return to action Oct. 1-2, as the team splits up to complete at Oglethorpe and Piedmont.
