Sewanee Routs Hendrix, 14-2, in Sunday Matinee

SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Sewanee men's lacrosse team bounced back from Friday night's defeat with a 14-2 victory over Hendrix on Sunday afternoon from historic Hardee-McGee Field at Harris Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Tigers opened the contest with goals by Hayden Hunt and Daniel Burnum.

-After a Hendrix goal with 4:29 left in the opening quarter, the Tigers held the Warriors scoreless for the next 35-plus minutes en route to an 11-0 run during the time.

SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Thomas Oliver and Hayden Hunt each laced hat tricks in the win for the home team.

-Daniel Burnum scored twice and assisted on three Sewanee shots for five total points.

-As a team, Sewanee won 15-of-20 faceoffs. Alex DiNardon won 9-of-12, while Ryan Stubits collected six wins out of eight attempts.

-Bryce Womack (5-3) earned the win in the cage, saving seven shots in 30 first half minutes.

HENDRIX KEY STATISTICS
-Max Lynch and Garrett Brown each scored a goal for the Warriors.

-Samuel Martin scooped up six grounders, while Reed Mershon caused two turnovers.

UP NEXT
The regular season concludes on Saturday with a key Southern Athletic Association matchup with Berry at Historic Hardee-McGee Field at Harris Stadium. The winner of the match will earn the No. 2 seed in the 2018 SAA Men's Lacrosse Tournament and will the right to a first round bye. The loser will host the No. 6 seed on Friday, April 20.
