Box Score MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Sewanee men's lacrosse team suffered a 14-8 defeat to the hands of Rhodes College in the 2018 Southern Athletic Association Men's Lacrosse Championship Match on Saturday afternoon from Crain Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Rhodes got the scoring started with a goal at the 11:10 mark. However, 10 seconds, after Ryan Stubits won the faceoff, Thomas Lynde picked up the groundball and found the back of the net to even the score.
-Rhodes took the lead a minute later, but the visitors evened the score with 8:37 left in the opening period. After a Rhodes penalty to put them man-down, Lynde took advantage with a man-up goal.
-The teams traded shots for about a six-minute span, but the Lynx took the lead again with less than two minutes ago in the first.
-After another Stubits faceoff win, Jimmy Parker evened the score again with a goal at the 1:10 mark.
-The home team added a goal at the end of the period, and the momentum stayed in their favor, outscoring their opponent 9-0 in a 37-plus minute span to seal the SAA Championship.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Jake Vaughn tallied a hat trick to lead the Tigers, while Thomas Lynde scooped up three grounders and scored twice.
-Bryce Womack (6-5) saved 11 shots in full time in between the net.
RHODES KEY STATISTICS
-Ryan Fennelly scored four three goals and tallied three assists, while Ryan Marasco and David Perez each scored three goals.
-Cameron Link (11-2) also played full time for the Lynx, saving eight shots.
