Box Score MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Sewanee baseball team could not come back from a 4-0 deficit after two innings of play, as the Tigers' season comes to a close on Friday with a 5-2 loss against Centre in the Rhodes Regional of the 2018 Southern Athletic Association Baseball Tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Colonels opened the contest with three runs in the first before adding a run in the second.
-Sewanee cut the deficit to three with a single run in the fourth. Chris McNulty started the frame by reaching base on a hit by pitch. After a Trey Akins and two batters recording outs, Jake Woolard reached first on a fielding error that allowed McNulty to cross the plate.
-Centre would add a run in the fifth, but the Tigers added a run in the sixth. Drew Mancuso scored on a Bryce Benedict strikeout, but he would reach base on a pass ball by the Colonels' catcher.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Chris McNulty, Jake Woolard and Jared Demkowicz each notched multi-hit games for the Tigers.
-Trey Akins laced a double in his 1-for-4 day at the plate.
-Justin Lavender (2-3) allowed three earned runs in 1.1 innings. Trey Holland did damage control, allowing one unearned run in 4.2 innings.
CENTRE KEY STATISTICS
-Mason Falbo went 3-for-4 on the day with an RBI and two runs scored.
-Chris Esselman (5-2) allowed two unearned runs on six hits in six innings pitched. Drew Schacht pitched the final two-thirds of an inning to record his fifth save.
