HOW IT HAPPENED
-Trailing for about half of the first period, the Tigers, down 21-15, went on a 7-0 run in about a two-minute span to take their first lead of the contest thanks to a Cam Caldwell dunk.
-The teams traded buckets late in the half, but the Purple and Gold led 33-30 at the halftime break.
-Not relinquishing the lead in the final 20 minutes, Sewanee shot 55 percent (12-of-22) from the floor as they outscored BSC 38-29.
-The Tigers began to pull away midway through the second half thanks to an 8-2 run.
SAA STANDINGS
-With Sunday's win at Millsaps, Centre controls the lead in the Southern Athletic Association standings. Oglethorpe, thanks to a loss vs. Rhodes, and Sewanee are now knotted at 8-3 for second place in the SAA standings. Sewanee and Oglethorpe will break their second place tie Friday night inside Juhan Gymnasium.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Adrian Thomas and Hunter Buescher each tallied 18 points for the victors. Thomas corralled nine boards and dished out four dimes, while Buescher posted six steals, five rebounds and four assists.
-Cam Caldwell added 13 points and seven rebounds, while Luke Smith totaled 12 points.
BIRMINGHAM-SOUTHERN KEY STATISTICS
-Harrison Deneka finished as the only Panther in double figures, posting 15 points and added 10 boards.

The Tigers will open their final homestand of 2018 on Friday night, as they host Oglethorpe. Tip is slated for 8 p.m.
