HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Tigers sprinted out on the Royals early in the game as they scored the first nine points.
-Johnson made it a 15-10 score with 14:45 left in the opening half, but the visitors took off from there, out-scoring the home team, 20-9, in a six-minute span to lead 45-19.
-Sewanee took a halftime lead of 54-35 and held off Johnson, 49-36, in the second half to secure the victory.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Luke Smith led all scorers with a 27-point performance, tying a career-high for the third straight game. The sophomore scored 20 points in the first half thanks to a 5-of-9 performance from 3-point land. On the night, Smith finished with a 10-of-17 performance from the field, 6-of-12 from downtown.
-Jordan Warlick recorded his first 20-point game of the year with a career-best 22 points on 8-of-10 shooting and 5-of-7 from triple. The Irmo, S.C. native added six boards and five dimes.
-Cam Caldwell added 13 points and seven rebounds, while Matt Lee dropped 10 points.
-Off the bench, Ryan Starr contributed six assists, five rebounds and three steals.
