SANDESTIN, Fla. - The 17th-ranked Sewanee women's golf team the 24th-ranked Sewanee men's golf team competed at the Golfweek D-III Fall Invitational this past week. In the three-round tournament, the women finished 10th and the men 15th.

TOP WOMEN'S PERFORMANCES
-After firing an 83 in the opening round, Meghan Symonds carded a 78 and 76 in the final two rounds to climb from a 33rd place position after Monday's play to finish Tuesday in 21st place with a score of 237.
-Sophie Morrill averaged 5.27 strokes on par 5's and chipped in six birdies to finish tied for 30th at 240 (79-83-78).
-Natalie Javadi also recorded six birdies en route to a 243 (81-77-85) score at the 54-hole tournament.
-Mary Elizabeth Benton (249 | 85-84-80) and Caroline Cole (250 | 89-81-80) rounded out the Sewanee scoring.
Rhodes won the event with a 920 score, 18 strokes ahead of Carnegie Mellon.

TOP MEN'S PERFORMANCES
-Nick Powell led Sewanee with a 54-hole score of 222 (76-72-74), finishing in 38th.
-Michael Olmsted scored a 226 (73-76-77), while Woodson Smith fired a 227 (72-80-75).
-Nic Vandeventer, who averaged a 2.93 score on par 3 holes, scored a 229 (77-73-79).
-Tommy Oliver rounded out the Sewanee scoring with a 237 (81-78-78).
-Emory won the event with an 842 score (272-292-278).

The men's squad will wrap up the fall schedule Oct. 22 at the Chick-Fil-A Invitational, hosted by Berry College. The women's fall schedule is complete.
