Box Score 2017 SAA Women's Soccer Bracket
SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Sewanee women's soccer team earned a 2-1 win on Saturday afternoon against fifth-ranked Berry in the quarterfinals of the 2017 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Tournament at Puett Field.
The offense was firing on all cylinders early for Sewanee (6-8-2), as they scored the two goals of the match within the first 5:15.
At the 3:01 mark, Kiley Ezzell netted her third goal of the year off a Clay McKnight assist.
2:14 later, it was Mary "Sissy" Frank who launched her fifth goal of the year off a free kick.
Berry (4-9-1) made it a 2-1 contest off a goal by Hannah Eddins.
After Berry made it a 2-1 score, the Tigers held strong for the final 84 minutes. The back line allowed 11 shots in the second half, but none went in the net.
Savannah Williams (4-3-1) earned the win in goal, saving six shots.
The Tigers will now take on top-seed Centre in the semifinals on Friday, Nov. 3. Hosted by the Colonels, kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
