Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Sewanee women's soccer team were downed to Rhodes Sunday afternoon thanks to a late second half goal, as the Lynx defeated the Tigers, 2-1, from Puett Field.
Prior to the start on the pitch, Kiley Ezzell, Mary "Sissy" Frank and Melissa Zankman were honored on Senior Day.
The Lynx (8-5-1, 4-2-0) recorded the first goal of the match thanks to Liz Vega in the 24th minute.
The Tigers (5-7-2, 3-2-1), as they did Friday night when trailing to Hendrix, rallied to even the score. Mary "Sissy" Frank, as she did Friday found an opening from Melissa Zankman for the equalizer.
However, Rhodes, who outshot Sewanee 7-2 in the second half, found the back of the net in the 87th minute off the foot of Vega.
Savannah Williams (3-2-1) saved three shots, but suffered the loss in goal.
Sewanee will wrap up the 2017 regular season schedule Saturday when they travel to Centre.
