Box Score

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (Sept. 11, 2016)  An overtime goal by Yasmeen Farra lifted No. 7 Trinity to a 2-1 victory, Sunday, over the Sewanee women's soccer team.

Farra netted the game-winner with less than four minutes to play in the extra period. Prior to her goal, both teams battled hard throughout regulation.

The former Southern College Athletic Conference rivals remained scoreless until the 71st minute as Halleanne Dure pushed Trinity in front after a great pass from Brigitte Taylor.

Minutes later, Sewanee answered back. Despite having only five shots in the match, the Tigers knotted the score at 1-1 as sophomore Savannah Williams ripped home a shot off an assist from classmate Dayla LaRocque.

Both teams failed to score the remainder of regulation which forced overtime.

Overall, Trinity led in shots 20-5. The host Tigers also finished with a 4-0 advantage in corners.

After playing six straight road matches to start the season, Sewanee finally returns to Puett Field for its home opener this Saturday. The Tigers and visiting Transylvania are scheduled to start at 12:00 p.m.
