Box Score JACKSON, Miss. (March 25, 2016) – For the second straight game, the Sewanee men's lacrosse team reached the 20-goal mark as the Tigers blew out Southern Athletic Association (SAA) member Millsaps 20-6, Friday, at Harper Davis Field.
The Tigers are now 6-3 overall and 3-0 in league action.
Sewanee netted seven goals in the first, five in the second, six in the third, and two in the fourth quarter. The Tigers led by 10, 12-2, at halftime, and then built their advantage to 14 by the end of the third.
Overall, Sewanee outshot Millsaps 55-34. The Tigers also forced 21 Majors turnovers while grabbing 33 groundballs and winning 19-of-30 faceoffs.
Individually, 13 players scored led by Robbie Berndt's three goals. Jimmy Parker, David Kasten, Pat DiMento, and Hayden Hunt all finished with two goals while Ben Lucas, Tyler Calnan, Tristan Robinson, Brooks Young, Cason Liles, Peter Brown, and Cotter Brown all added one.
In goal Selby Austin, Bryce Womack, Tal Wharton, and Browning Altizer all combined for 12 saves.
Sewanee returns to action Sunday at Birmingham-Southern. The game is scheduled to start at noon.
