Box Score

DANVILLE, Ky. (Nov. 4, 2016)  Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Rhodes ended the Sewanee women's soccer season Friday as the No. 2 seeded Lynx defeated the No. 3 seeded Tigers 3-0 on the campus of Centre College.

The Tigers ended 2016 with an 8-9-2 overall record. Sewanee's senior class combined for 43 career wins. That total is one of the best stretches over four seasons in program history.

After a slow start, Rhodes scored all three goals in the second half. Sydnie Schindler scored the first goal in the 62nd minute. Rhodes then added to its advantage with another score only three minutes later.

Rhodes ended any chance of a Sewanee comeback when Aly Hoyt ripped in a shot in the 86th minute.

Sewanee did edge Rhodes in shots, 8-7. The Tigers also added four corners. Unfortunately, only one attempt by the Tigers finished on-goal.

Individually, Katie Morrison and Erin Gill led the attack with two shots.

With the win, Rhodes advanced to the SAA title match against No. 14 ranked Centre.
