Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. (Oct. 7, 2016) – The Sewanee women's soccer team stayed unbeaten in Southern Athletic Association (SAA) play after a 4-1 win over visiting Millsaps, Friday, at Puett Field.
The Tigers are now a perfect 3-0-0 in conference play. In fact, Sewanee has not lost a conference regular season match since the 2014 season.
The Tigers scored early when Katie Morrison kicked in the opening goal in the ninth minute. As play continued in the first half, Dayla LaRocque then ripped a quick pass from Erin Gill into the back of the net.
The score remained 2-0 until Gill scored herself early in the second half. Just after halftime, Kiley Ezzell served a great cross into the box where Gill headed home the Tigers' third goal.
Millsaps scored its lone goal when Molly Ambrose fired a perfectly placed shot in from 30 yards out.
However, the Tigers responded back late in the second half when Isabelle Macdonald scored her first career goal off another pass from Gill.
Overall, Sewanee dominated the stats with 41 shots. The Tigers midfield and defense limited the Majors to only three attempts and no corners.
Sewanee quickly returns to action with a noon match against Birmingham-Southern, Sunday.
