Caffrey's two goals rallies Sewanee past Transylvania

SEWANEE, Tenn. (Oct. 29, 2016)  Two second-half goals by freshman Ceara Caffrey led the Sewanee field hockey team to a 2-1 comeback win over visiting Transylvania, Saturday, at Puett Field.

Caffrey netted both goals in the final 33 minutes of the match. After a late first half goal by Transy, Caffrey scored her first goal off a pass from senior Carrie Anderson.

Later in the final half, Caffrey ripped in a shot from senior Kat Mulligan for the game-winner.

Overall, Sewanee led in shots 24-8. The Tigers also edged the Pioneers in corners, 8-7. 

Individually, Hannah Thompkins led the Tigers with six attempts. Caffrey finished with five shots while multiple other players had at least two attempts.

Zoe Jessie paced Transy with five shots.
