Box Score MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Oct. 15, 2016) – Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Rhodes rolled past the Sewanee women's soccer team for a 4-0 win, Saturday, at the Rhodes Soccer field.
The loss snapped Sewanee's two-year SAA regular season unbeaten streak after entering the weekend 10-0-1 the last two seasons.
Rhodes scored its first goal midway through the first half when Sydnie Schindler fired a shot off a great pass from Emma Selner.
The Lynx then kept rolling in the second half. Schindler ripped home her second goal with 55:20 off the clock in the second half. That was followed by goals from Aly Hoyt and Elise Grisoni.
Overall, Rhodes led Sewanee in shots by an 18-10 mark. The Lynx also finished with a 7-4 advantage in corners.
Mary "Sissy" Frank and Sofia Olenchek, who each finished with two shots, paced Sewanee on offense. In goal, keeper Samantha Bourgeois finished with six saves.
Sewanee quickly returns to action with a 1:00 p.m., match at Hendrix, Sunday.
