A late goal lifts Greensboro past Sewanee

GREENSBORO, N.C. (Sept. 6, 2015) – A goal in the 84th minute lifted host Greensboro to a 1-0 victory over the Sewanee men's soccer team, Sunday, at Appenzeller Field.

The Pride scored the game-winner when Craig Gage netted a goal from Robbie Barnes.

Overall, Greensboro dominated the shot count leading in attempts 17-4.

The Tigers' attempts were led by Max Hawes, Ramsey Seagle, and Kyle Johnston.

Freshman Will Merriman led Sewanee in goal with eight saves.

After three straight road matches to open its season, Sewanee returns to Puett Field for the first time next Saturday. The Tigers will welcome Huntingdon for a 2:30 p.m., contest.
