Defense leads Emory past Sewanee

Box Score

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. (Sept. 1, 2015) – An early goal by Cristina Ramirez helped visiting Emory to a 1-0 victory over the Sewanee women's soccer team at Puett Field.

The Eagles' Ramirez scored with just under 11 minutes off the clock in the first half. That would be the difference offensively as Sewanee managed only three shots. All three were in the second half.

Emory limited Sewanee to one corner while leading in shots, 12-3.

Despite allowing an early goal, Sewanee keeper Olivia Glascoe played well with 10 saves.

The Tigers will now step outside NCAA Division III action for a battle with NCAA Division II scholarship program Trevecca on Saturday in Nashville, Tenn.
